VILLA SAN MICHELE, A BELMOND HOTEL: ESCAPE TO FLORENCE'S MOST LEGENDARY RETREAT

An emblem of Renaissance architecture and a serene haven overlooking Florence, Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, reopened on 28 April 2026 following an extensive renovation led by Florentine architect Luigi Fragola. The iconic retreat invites guests to embrace the art of slow luxury, with restorative rituals at the new Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain, and a curated programme of Energy Raising Experiences with La DoubleJ, culminating in an immersive retreat with the founder JJ Martin from 3-6 September. At the reimagined fine dining restaurant Antesi - Executive Chef Alessandro Cozzolino presents three new tasting menus where every dish is conceived as a unique moment, served at the precise instant when flavour reaches its fullest expression. Throughout the season, a vibrant calendar of events brings the gardens to life with open-air concerts with the local Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Epicurean Circles celebrating Tuscan winemakers, and creative calligraphy workshops.

COPACABANA PALACE, A BELMOND HOTEL, RIO DE JANEIRO: A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE CARIOCA LEGEND – DECEMBER 2026

Following its centenary in 2023, the legendary Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Rio de Janeiro will reveal the renovation and reinvention of its Pool Wing and pool area in December 2026. The Pool Wing, originally launched in 1948, overlooks the iconic pool and lounging terrace, the hotel's vibrant social heart. The interiors will be inspired by Brazil's rich materials and artisanal techniques, infusing the Carioca legend with a renewed sense of place, cultural cachet, and Brazilian creativity. The Pool Wing will become an all-suite experience, each featuring a balcony, and most overlooking the famed pool and the illustrious Copacabana Beach. The wing will also debut one of the most incredible wellness destinations in Rio, with five floors dedicated entirely to wellbeing. This new chapter will also see the reimagination of the pool area by architect Ivan Rezende introducing a new hotel bar - set to elevate the Copacabana poolside experience.
