Job Lead – Leading Hoteliers Network 

Position: General Manager 

Location: Penang, Malaysia


The Opportunity

Lead an internationally branded upscale hotel overlooking the Penang Strait, driving growth, commercial performance, and operational excellence in one of Malaysia's leading business and leisure destinations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership, driving profitability and guest experiences

  • Develop business strategies to strengthen market positioning and revenue growth

  • Drive commercial opportunities across Rooms, F&B, MICE, and weddings

  • Build and inspire a high-performing leadership team

  • Partner closely with ownership and key stakeholders

  • Ensure operational excellence and brand standards


What We're Looking For

  • Proven GM experience in an internationally branded upscale or full-service hotel

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue and market share

  • Understanding of the Malaysian hospitality market; Penang or northern Malaysia experience is an advantage

  • Strong F&B and MICE business understanding

  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with hotel owners

  • A hands-on, resilient, and results-oriented leader

  • Previous experience with a major international hotel group is an advantage
