Ultra-prime developer Caudwell has appointed Dorchester Collection, the mark of distinction for the world's most remarkable hotels and residences including The Dorchester, to manage the luxury services for 1 Mayfair, including full property management, concierge and exceptional hotel-style services. 1 Mayfair is the new £2 billion (GDV) residential address, designed and developed by Caudwell to be the finest residential scheme in London.
As a result of the appointment 1 Mayfair will now be positioned as offering “Luxury Services By The Dorchester”, bringing together Mayfair's two most prestigious luxury destinations.
Caudwell's vision for 1 Mayfair is to ensure that its outstanding amenities and private residences are operated to the highest standards of elegance for which Dorchester Collection is world renowned.
The appointment will also give 1 Mayfair residents the benefit of priority reservation at The Dorchester's restaurants and services. The hotel, which opened in 1931, is just a three-minute walk away and includes the three Michelin-star Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, The Grill and China Tang, other gastronomic experiences, legendary cocktail bars and a health spa.
1 Mayfair has 24 principal residences including lateral apartments, penthouses and townhouses, five further staff suites and stately home inspired entertaining halls and lounges designed around a central garden. It will be complete with luxury amenities including a health spa featuring a 20-metre (65 ft) swimming pool, gym and treatment rooms, basement parking and 24-hour security, concierge and valet parking managed by Dorchester Collection.
Located on South Audley Street, on the doorstep of Park Lane and Hyde Park, 1 Mayfair has been master-planned by a world-renowned professional team, overseen by Caudwell, including architecture by New York-based architect Robert A.M. Stern of RAMSA and the interiors of the reception halls and lounges devised by Paris-based American-Chilean designer Juan Pablo (J.P.) Molyneux.
The appointment of Dorchester Collection will provide the residents of 1 Mayfair with the benefit of The Dorchester's dedicated team, who will provide a discreet, personal service tailored to each resident's specific needs, regardless of where they are in the world.
From the moment residents arrive at 1 Mayfair, The Dorchester's team of uniformed doormen, security, concierge and duty managers will ensure they have seamless, personalised experiences, whether enjoying the leisure amenities, arranged bespoke services, travel planning, or simply relaxing in their residence. Residence owners will be able to access The Dorchester's 'black book', from reservations at the hottest restaurants, tickets to sold out sporting events or fashion shows, amongst other sought-after experiences.
Alongside 24-hour maintenance services, 1 Mayfair will offer residents a comprehensive range of housekeeping services, available on an a la carte basis, including maid cleaning, personalised flower arrangements, bed linen changing, dry cleaning, pressing and seamstress services, grocery shopping and delivery, personal assistant services, pet care and tours/event management, tailored to the requirements of each home, with personal touches provided by Dorchester Collection.
Other a la carte services at 1 Mayfair will include 24-hour in-residence dining, a curated catering service which brings the renowned quality, exceptional cuisine and service of The Dorchester to private events, delivering unparalleled elegance and culinary excellence and ensuring each occasion, whether a milestone celebration, intimate dinner party or VIP event with personal chef, is nothing short of extraordinary.
Beside the private residences, 1 Mayfair has been designed and built by Caudwell like a world-class, top tier luxury hotel, with extensive back-of-house facilities including secret doors, hidden corridors, staff stairwells and staff passenger lifts enabling the service team to move seamlessly and discreetly throughout the development. All the residences have secondary entrances for staff with access to the back-of-house network, with the larger apartments, penthouses and townhouses having dedicated back-of-house facilities such as professional catering kitchens.
1 Mayfair has a sequence of lounges for residents including a grand reception room, a library and a garden gallery, that open onto or overlook the central garden. These rooms, the health spa and courtyard garden have various pantries and service points so that The Dorchester's team can provide residents and their guests with their preferred food, beverages and other refreshments and cater for parties and other curated events.
The extensive back-of-house facilities at 1 Mayfair will include an on-site car valeting facility and a dedicated floral room, to be operated in conjunction with the spectacular Cake & Flowers shop at The Dorchester, which will provide the reception halls, lounges and private residences at 1 Mayfair with beautiful, breathtaking floral displays for which the hotel is renowned.
John Caudwell, British businessman, philanthropist and founder of Caudwell says: “1 Mayfair is London's most prestigious residential address, designed to be a leader in global luxury, so we have appointed the internationally acclaimed Dorchester Collection to manage 1 Mayfair. It is part of our vision to ensure that the exceptional amenities and private residences that Caudwell has created at 1 Mayfair are operated to the highest standards of elegance and polished professionalism for which Dorchester Collection is world renowned.”
