Current Trends in Hotel General Manager Job Opportunities Across the United States

The U.S. hospitality sector continues to demonstrate robust demand for experienced hotel general managers, though regional variations and property segments show distinct patterns in hiring activity. As of late April 2025, luxury resorts and urban lifestyle properties are leading recruitment efforts, while some traditional business hotels maintain more conservative hiring approaches.
The summer season is driving particularly strong demand in seasonal markets, with coastal destinations from Maine to Florida reporting active searches for general management talent. Mountain resorts in Colorado and Utah are similarly engaged in pre-summer hiring, with properties anticipating another record year for leisure travel. According to the American Hotel & Lodging Association's latest workforce report, GM turnover rates currently stand at 18% year-to-date, slightly higher than the 15% recorded during the same period in 2024.
