Fairfield by Marriott, one of over 30 extraordinary brands in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, has officially launched its product upgrade in China — including a new Chinese name that now carries the “Marriott” master brand, and the unveiling of its newly refreshed product design and guest experience. To meet the changing needs of modern Chinese travelers, the product upgrade enhances design, functionality, and service—offering an at-ease and comfortable stay that reflects the brand’s “Beauty of Simplicity” philosophy.

“Since debuting in China eight years ago, Fairfield by Marriott has been widely recognized for delivering a simple, comfortable guest experience and sustainable investment returns—establishing itself as one of Marriott International’s key growth engines in the market,” said Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer, Greater China, Marriott International. “This product upgrade enhances the brand’s competitiveness in the select service segment, while the new Chinese name reflects Marriott’s systematic empowerment. We remain committed to expanding Fairfield by Marriott’s footprint across more destinations favored by travelers.”

Fairfield by Marriott traces its roots back to the Fairfield Farm and Manor House nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains — a serene retreat where Mr. J.W. and Mrs. Alice Marriott embraced simple living and heartfelt hospitality. The newly upgraded Fairfield by Marriott hotels pay tribute to this heritage, bringing “The Beauty of Simplicity” to life through natural design inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the ease of manor living. The design upgrade centers around three core spaces — The Fairfield Living Room, The Fairfield Restaurant, and Guest Rooms — and addresses four essential travel needs: working, sleeping, bathing, and service. The result is a thoughtfully balanced experience that combines focused efficiency with relaxed comfort.

Manor-Inspired Functional Public Spaces

The upgraded public areas combine modern simplicity with manor charm, offering flexible, multifunctional spaces. The use of natural wood tones and textures brings a sense of warmth and ease to the public areas, while the front desk’s background wall— inspired by “a view through the window”—showcases the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Fairfield Living Room is a new highlight of the public area design, offering multi-functional spaces for work, meetings, casual gatherings, and retail experiences. Signature features, including the brand’s iconic fireplace and curated heritage artwork, create a cozy, manor-inspired ambiance that invites guests to connect and unwind. The open table offers a comfortable and efficient space for work and informal conversations. Private Meeting Rooms are designed to flexibly accommodate social interactions, focused discussions, and small-scale meetings. The Fairfield Market provides a carefree retail experience for travelers, offering convenient anytime access to business must-haves, local snacks, and essential supplies.

Additionally, the public area design facilitates the integration and seamless transition between different functional zones. The Fairfield Restaurant features a built-in open kitchen layout, thoughtfully separating the food preparation and dining areas to enhance flow and organization. During peak dining hours, it can be expanded to connect with The Living Room.

Guest Rooms Balance Comfort and Efficiency

In the newly upgraded guestrooms, natural-textured walls, a wood-paneled TV backdrop inspired by a fireplace, and abstract artwork outlining the Blue Ridge Mountains highlight the beauty of nature and simplicity. Flexible furniture pieces, such as fabric sofas, are designed for guest convenience and accommodate the needs of various properties, streamlining the development process. Guest bathrooms feature a layout that combines glass partitions with solid walls to enhance privacy. The upgraded shower system offers a more intuitive and convenient bathing experience.

Notably, the guestrooms incorporate a “Work with Ease” concept tailored to the productivity needs of modern business travelers. Each room features an ergonomic chair and an eye-friendly desk lamp. Desks can be equipped with optional electric height adjustment, extended screen and wireless charging, creating a focused and efficient work environment with added comfort.

Warm Hospitality Rooted in Tradition

A series of thoughtful details embodies Fairfield by Marriott’s long-standing tradition of heartfelt hospitality, enhancing the guest experience. Guests are welcomed with a calming arrival experience inspired by the flora of the Blue Ridge Mountains, marked by signature Blue Ridge aroma tag. The welcome basket features carefully selected local treats, including honey products and regional snacks, offering a taste of authentic culture upon arrival.

“We stay closely attuned to evolving consumer lifestyles and travel needs, continuously refining our products and services,” said Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer, Greater China, Marriott International. “This upgrade embraces a philosophy rooted in simplicity and a connection to nature, strengthening the brand’s ties to Marriott’s heritage while thoughtfully catering to guests’ expectations for work-life balance during...
