Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Meliá Hotels International, has been recognized as one of Spain's most influential business leaders on LinkedIn, according to the recent study published by LinkedIn and Good Rebels on the activity of CEOs and chairmen of major companies on the professional network.
The “2nd Study on the Culture of Connection: Chairmen and CEOs Leading the Conversation," carried out by the Movimiento Nexo initiative, ranks Gabriel Escarrer as the highest-rated executive in the travel and hospitality sector, with a score of 38 out of 45 — the highest across all profiles and sectors analyzed in the country. The report especially highlights his ability to combine a high frequency of posting with meaningful conversations, a strong professional community, and a close, authentic communication style.
The study also identifies Gabriel Escarrer as one of the leading national figures in categories such as “Corporate Voice," “Conversation Driver," and “Influential Leadership," recognizing his ability to foster open discussions in which the majority of interactions come from professionals, business leaders, and experts outside his own organization, going beyond the traditional corporate environment.
This recognition adds to his recent ranking by Epsilon Technologies, which placed Gabriel Escarrer among the most influential CEOs in Spain on LinkedIn. It also builds on his inclusion among the world's top 10 most influential tourism leaders on LinkedIn in the Social Media Pulse digital ranking by the platform Favikon, reinforcing a track record of digital leadership grounded in proximity, transparency, and ongoing dialogue with stakeholders.
In Gabriel Escarrer's words, “LinkedIn has become a unique space to share ideas, learn from other professionals, and drive conversations around the challenges and opportunities facing our sector. Above all, this recognition reflects the engagement and interest of a community of people with whom I am fortunate to regularly exchange experiences and perspectives."
The LinkedIn Spain and Good Rebels study concludes that business leaders who communicate with authenticity, consistency, and openness generate higher levels of trust, conversation, and impact than traditional corporate profiles. In this context, the report highlights Gabriel Escarrer's approach as a clear example of how combining business vision, consistency, and a personal, first-hand perspective helps strengthen corporate reputation.
With more than seven decades of history, Meliá Hotels International remains firmly committed to transparent communication and responsible leadership, promoting spaces for dialogue to share knowledge, foster talent, and contribute to the sustainable development of tourism.
