IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, signs a Kimpton-branded hotel in Madrid, located on Goya Street, 89, in partnership with El Corte Inglés. The signing, advised by Colliers Hotels Iberia, marks the brand’s debut in Madrid and a significant step forward in IHG’s continued luxury and lifestyle growth in Spain.

The hotel builds on the brand’s growing presence in the country, where the Kimpton brand is already established in Barcelona, Mallorca, and Marbella, and further strengthens IHG’s position in one of Europe’s most dynamic luxury hotel markets.

Expected to open in mid-2030, the 106-key hotel will be located in Barrio Salamanca, one of Madrid’s most prestigious neighborhoods, and will occupy an iconic heritage building in the heart of the city. The property is set to feature a ground-floor restaurant, spa, and indoor pool, as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking Madrid and its picturesque rooftops and historical buildings.

This signing also reflects the continued evolution of the Kimpton brand as it expands its footprint in global cities, bringing its distinctly human, design-led approach to urban markets. Guided by the Kimpton brand ethos, the hotel will draw on local culture through thoughtfully curated design, programming, and food and drink experiences, bringing a fresh perspective on luxury hospitality to a city defined by culture, creativity, and social energy.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “The signing of our first Kimpton in Madrid marks an exciting milestone for IHG as we continue to grow our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in strategic markets across Europe. Spain is a cornerstone of our European growth strategy, offering significant scale potential and strong fundamentals, and we’re delighted to partner with El Corte Inglés on this exciting new hotel. Madrid has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s most compelling destinations for luxury travel, and this exceptional hotel will give guests a distinctive new way to experience the city through Kimpton’s bold design, heartfelt service, and locally inspired experiences.”

Tourism became one of Madrid’s leading economic sectors in 2025, reaching a record €17.9 billion in international visitor spending - up 11% year-on-year and 71% versus 2019, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Situated near the city’s upscale shopping, dining, and cultural hotspots, the hotel is ideally positioned to capture this growing demand from both domestic and international travelers.

The addition of IHG’s Kimpton brand in Madrid reinforces IHG’s ambition to expand its luxury and lifestyle footprint in sought-after gateway cities across Europe. With 116* open and 68* pipeline properties in our luxury and lifestyle portfolio across Europe, and 66* open and 16* pipeline properties across all segments in Spain, the signing underscores our continued momentum in one of the continent's most dynamic markets.... Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026

Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service nine years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.

Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.

We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.

Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."

While membership spots for 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more here
