Kerzner International, a leading international developer and operator of destination resorts, ultra-luxury hotels and residences, is delighted to announce that two of the company’s iconic resorts have been recognised in the global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024. Atlantis The Royal in Dubai ranked No.9, and achieved the Highest Climber Award after jumping 35 spots to enter the top 10, andOne&Only Mandarinain Mexico ranked No. 29.
Following a successful debut in 2023, the second edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels has been announced at a captivating awards ceremony in London, and includes industry-defining hotels from across six continents worldwide. The awards ceremony once again brought together the global travel and hospitality community to celebrate the world's best hotels. Held at the historic Guildhall, the event showcased exceptional hotel experiences that will inspire consumers, travellers, and hoteliers around the globe.
“We are honoured to have two of our extraordinary resorts recognised by The World’s 50 Best. Both resorts are one-of-a-kind and demonstrate the power and diversity of Kerzner to deliver successful, destination-defining experiences, whether that is ultra-luxury on a larger-than-life scale like at Atlantis The Royal, or a secluded escape, immersed in wild nature and spiritual culture as we have at One&Only Mandarina,” said Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International. “We are proud to receive such recognition from our industry peers, and it is testament to the innovation, creativity and tireless pursuit of excellence that is part of the Kerzner DNA. Congratulations to all our colleagues around the world who have played an integral part in this great achievement.”
Marking its one-year anniversary earlier this year and ranking at No. 9 in the Worlds 50 Best list, Atlantis The Royal is reshaping the definition of luxury hospitality. Whether it’s culinary or fashion or entertainment, the resort continues to pioneer innovative collaborations such as partnering with Dolce & Gabbana to take over the space at the Cloud 22 infinity pool or celebrating its first anniversary with custom-made Louis Vuitton Vivienne statues. The property is experientially one of a kind – so much more than its 795 elegant, rooms suites and signature penthouses – where guests can swim amongst the clouds in sky pools, dine at more celebrity chef restaurants than anywhere else in the world, and be mesmerised by fountains that literally breathe fire.
Ranked No. 29 One&Only Mandarina is nestled within an intimate, chic coastal community set upon a rare undeveloped stretch of coastline along the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico. Woven seamlessly into the dramatic vistas of Mexico’s most awe-inspiring coastal rainforest, the property provides both serene treehouse seclusion and sweeping, clifftop villas. Palm-fringed sands, emerald cliffsides and swimmable shores nurture an ultra-stylish environment, consciously crafted for human connection. Home to thrilling activities and secluded tranquility, with unparalleled family offerings, mindful experiences in nature, spiritual wellness journeys and hands-on culinary workshops, the resort is designed to take guests to the heart of the destination in an environment crafted for reconnection. The ultra-luxury resort boasts 105 architecturally stunning villas and tree houses, each with a private plunge pool and views overlooking the ocean or the jungle, in addition to a collection of exclusive One&Only Private Homes. The serene accommodations sit alongside a collection of spectacular entertainment spaces - from the vibrant Jetty Beach Club, to family-friendly hub at Alma, to an award-winning culinary destination, Carao, by celebrated Chef Enrique Olvera.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 was revealed as part of a live countdown from No.50 to No.1. The ranking is complemented by a host of special awards and reflects the very best travel experiences around the globe, collated from the votes of 600 anonymous experts. This voting panel – the 50 Best Hotels Academy – comprises a balanced mix of hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and seasoned luxury travellers, led by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs.
This double award win closely follows last week’s inaugural MICHELIN Guide hotel awards Mexico, where One&Only Mandarina achieved the highest ranking of Three Keys, one of only three hotels in the country to achieve the top rating, and One&Only Palmilla was awarded Two Keys. Celebrating the world’s most outstanding hotels and resorts, the MICHELIN Keys represent the pinnacle of hospitality across design, architecture, service and personality. Like the MICHELIN stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are the culmination of countless hours of evaluation by Inspectors and represent the most outstanding hotels.
