INSPIRATION: Originally opened on September 12, 2006, Mandarin Oriental, Prague is a unique blend of historical charm and modern luxury. Housed in buildings that were once part of a medieval monastery, the hotel’s development was a complex process, meticulously managed in collaboration with the Monuments Preservation Office. This harmonious partnership resulted in a hotel that respects the historical integrity of its location while offering contemporary elegance.
The hotel features 99 rooms, including 20 suites, each with a unique layout that honours the building's original character. With 10 different room and suite categories and three distinct Signature suites, Mandarin Oriental, Prague provides a variety of experiences, all steeped in history.
Barbara Goettling is the General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Prague since October 2024, responsible for the hotel’s executive management and operations.
Of Austrian nationality, Barbara began her career in hospitality with Sofitel, working in various operational and commercial roles. She later joined the Hyatt Hotels Group, where she held several senior management positions, including multi property leadership roles in Sales and Marketing. In 2020, Barbara was appointed General Manager of Park Hyatt Vienna, where she led the hotel’s team of 220 staff and oversaw the hotel operations together with her leadership team.
Barbara’s achievements include extensive experience in pre-opening projects and a strong commitment to supporting women in hospitality, having served as chair of a networking group dedicated to their professional and personal development.
