Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong Continues 20th Anniversary Year with New Evolution of Culinary Experiences and Amber World Tour

As Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong continues its 20th anniversary celebrations, the hotel will introduce new concepts and enhancements to its seventh floor in 2026 that will strengthen its position as one of Hong Kong's most desirable dining destination. These include a subtle design refresh of Amber, a new wine-cellar and wine-cellar experience within the restaurant, and a Champagne-focused bar that will introduce a sophisticated social dimension to the floor.


The Culinary Heart of the Hotel

Located in the heart of Central, the 7th floor is the hotel's dedicated culinary destination and home to some of Hong Kong's most acclaimed restaurants. Three MICHELIN starred and MICHELIN Green Starred Amber sits alongside three MICHELIN starred Sushi Shikon, one MICHELIN starred Kappo Rin and the award winning French neo-bistro restaurant SOMM. Together, they represent one of the city's most distinguished concentrations of MICHELIN recognised talent, making the space a discreet yet dynamic destination for international travellers and loyal local diners alike. The upcoming enhancements reiterate its importance within the hotel's identity and its standing in Hong Kong's culinary landscape.

 

Reimagining Excellence: Amber's Enhanced Dining Experience

Guests are encouraged to visit Amber in the coming weeks before it enters its scheduled enhancement period in January and February 2026. The restaurant remains fully open until 3 January 2026, giving diners the opportunity to enjoy its seasonal menus ahead of the planned refinements. Amber will reopen in Q2 with a reimagined dining room designed to deepen the connection between the kitchen, service team and guest experience. The refined design will further enhance guest comfort and spatial flow while preserving Amber's legacy of precision, produce-led culinary artistry and warm hospitality. As part of this evolution, Amber will also introduce a new wine-cellar experience. Inspired by Amber's signature Kitchen Experience, guests will also be able to enjoy a curated wine pairing experience at a specially designed table in the cellar, elevating the art of pairing to new heights.

 

Taking Amber to the World: A 20th Anniversary Global Tour

During Amber's 20th anniversary year, Chef Richard Ekkebus and his team will also bring the restaurant's philosophy to a global audience through a series of high-profile collaborations across the Mandarin Oriental portfolio in 2026. The tour begins at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok as part of the hotel's 150th anniversary celebrations, before moving on to Mandarin Oriental, Vienna for its opening programme, then continuing to Mandarin Oriental, Madrid, Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris and Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich. Beyond Mandarin Oriental hotels, Richard will also collaborate with some of the Netherlands' most renowned chefs through events at De Librije (The Netherlands) and Privee Privee (Belgium).

 

These appearances highlight Amber's culinary perspective on the international stage while strengthening its ties with our sister properties. They also aimed to inspire the team and bring back fresh thinking on sustainability and innovative culinary approaches for the city.
