MGallery, a boutique hotel collection within Accor's luxury division, has announced the signing of a new exceptional property on the island of Oléron, in the heart of the unspoilt nature of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains. The opening of Bel Hôtel Oléron – MGallery Collection is scheduled for April 2026, following a major transformation of the Novotel Thalassa, built in the 1970s.
The result of a renewed collaboration between Accor and CLR Hôtels, a subsidiary of the La Rochelle-based CGR group, renowned in the worlds of cinema, catering, hospitality and wellness, this project illustrates the shared ambition to offer a unique luxury hotel, inspired by the elements and in harmony with its environment.
"Following the success of MGallery La Grande Terrasse Hotel & Spa La Rochelle and the laying of the foundation stone for the future MGallery in Valmorel, I am extremely pleased to continue our partnership with the CGR Group on the future MGallery Oléron project. I am eager to see this memorable place come to life, bringing together the magic of several elements — water, wind, wood, light — in a seaside setting that encourages reconnection." - Maud Bailly, Managing Director, Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems
A refuge between forest and ocean
Nestled between the Saint-Trojan national forest and Gatseau beach, this exceptional address is part of a rare and protected Natura 2000 site. Completely redesigned, the hotel will feature 102 rooms, including eight suites, all overlooking the pine forest or the ocean. The architecture and design, inspired by the seaside houses of Oléron, combine natural materials, light wood, sandy colours and mineral shades to create a bright and soothing atmosphere.
The culinary experience will be orchestrated by Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire. True to his vision of lively and sincere gastronomy, he will celebrate the meeting of the ocean and the land in a menu inspired by seasonality and local oyster farmers, market gardeners, breeders and artisans.
The hotel will offer a main restaurant with a terrace, an intimate Chef's Table, two bars (indoor and outdoor), and a beach club. The signature dish, centred on Oléron oysters, pays tribute to the island's maritime soul.
Continuing the heritage of the historic thalassotherapy site, the hotel will offer a spa and marine thalassotherapy centre with an indoor swimming pool, hammam, glass-walled sauna, herbal tearoom and 27 treatment rooms, several of which are designed for couples. Outdoor activities, such as yoga facing the waves, meditation under the pine trees and paddleboarding on calm waters, will extend this sensory immersion in close contact with nature.
A strong commitment to the environment and the region
Anchored in a protected natural ecosystem, the project was carried out in consultation with local authorities and the Ministry of Ecological Transition to ensure the preservation of the surrounding flora and fauna. The hotel will showcase local producers from Oléron through its menus and experiences.
With this new opening on the Atlantic coast, MGallery Collection is continuing its selective development in France, which will soon have nearly 40 hotels, and strengthening its presence on the west coast, between the ocean and the countryside.
After the cities, coastlines and Alpine peaks, MGallery confirms its ambition: to offer travellers immersive and memorable experiences in characterful locations where every stay becomes a memory. Read more here - Hotel Management Global Outlook Link

Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2025 - 2026
Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.
Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.
We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.
Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."
While membership spots for 2025 I 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more her
