Hilton Announces Plans for Canopy by Hilton’s First Ski Destination Hotel at New Deer Valley East Village

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced the signing of an agreement for a new-build Canopy by Hilton hotel at Deer Valley East Village - North America’s first luxury alpine village to be developed since 1981.

Signed as part of an agreement with New York-based Extell Development Company, a full service national real estate developer of residential, commercial and hospitality properties, the new 180-key hotel will mark the Canopy by Hilton brand’s first hotel in Utah with an opening slated for summer of 2026.

Overlooking the Jordanelle Reservoir and Deer Valley Resort, and situated steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola, Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley promises effortless ski access during the season as well as a cozy atmosphere, a lively apres-ski experience, and access to a host of restaurants.

The hotel design features architecture by The Richardson Design Partnership and interior design by DLR/Brayton Hughes. In keeping with the brand’s emphasis on providing authentically local experiences, Canopy at Deer Valley will embrace a unique aesthetic that intertwines the rich tradition of Park City’s silver mining past with its history as a burgeoning ski destination in the early 1960’s. Embracing the dynamic beauty of its natural surroundings, the hotel design draws inspiration from the evolving landscape, and reflects the transition from a historic mining town to a premier international ski destination.

To complement the unparalleled access to year-round recreational activities, the hotel will offer a curated suite of on-site amenities including a pool and hot tub, steam room and sauna, fitness center and golf simulator. There will also be a dedicated ski reception lobby and ski locker room, meeting and conference facilities, as well as two levels of underground parking accommodating 176 stalls.

Canopy at Deer Valley will offer a robust food and beverage selection spanning over 9,600 square feet, including a signature destination restaurant, an apres-ski lounge, a grab & go coffee shop, and a rooftop lounge with gorgeous mountain views. With its extensive food and beverage offering, Canopy at Deer Valley will also serve as a centerpiece of the surrounding neighborhood, including Extell’s recently completed 402-unit Pioche Village Condominiums directly next door.

Situated 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Deer Valley East Village provides a new portal into Deer Valley featuring hotels, private residences ranging from estate lots to luxury condominiums, up to 250,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, a world-class recreation complex, a ski beach, and various winter and summer amenities. Deer Valley’s long-awaited expansion will culminate in the 2025/2026 ski season when the resort will double the size of its current skiable terrain, adding 10 new chairlifts and 100 new ski runs. Upon completion, Deer Valley will boast over 5,726 acres of skiable terrain served by 37 chairlifts across 238 runs, securing its position as one of the largest ski resorts in North America. The new Deer Valley East Village portal will seamlessly connect visitors to this expanded terrain, offering an unparalleled mountain experience.

Hilton Bolsters Presence in Northeast India with the Signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Siliguri Sevoke Road

Hilton has announced the signing of its first DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Siliguri Sevoke Road, in association with Soonerio Hotels Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Beekay Group. This marks a strategic entry into Siliguri, West Bengal, popularly known as the ‘Gateway of Northeast India’. Scheduled to open in 2028, the 120-key DoubleTree by Hilton Siliguri will strengthen Hilton's presence in Northeast India and provide guests with the signature hospitality that the DoubleTree brand is renowned for worldwide.

Siliguri, located at the confluence of four international borders—India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh—is an emerging hub for business, tourism, and trade.
