TODAY'S INSPIRATION: In celebration of Global Wellness Day on June 14, 2025, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai invites guests to embark on a transformative journey of reconnection and mindfulness through a series of experiences. “Emphasising the importance of re-establishing bonds with nature, oneself, family and friends, community, and longevity, our resort lends itself naturally to the theme #ReconnectMagenta,” shares Sean Mosher, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Tented Camp Golden Triangle.

"How our guests experience the destination and what they take away from their travels to Northern Thailand remain paramount. For me, the interest in joining the hotel industry came very early on as I saw my hometown transform each summer from a quiet, traditional Canadian fishing town, to a bustling, prosperous destination for tourists from all over the world. The beauty of the landscape and warm hospitality were a natural draw," reminisces Sean Mosher, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Sean graduated with a Diploma in Hospitality Services from Nova Scotia Community College and began his hospitality career at The Delta Barrington Hotel in Halifax before moving to the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver. Now with a career spanning over two decades, Sean joined Four Seasons as Communications Supervisor at a Four Seasons hotel that was operated in Vancouver. His career took him to England where he spent six years at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, working his way up from Assistant Front Office Manager to Director of Rooms, before moving with his family to Langkawi and then to Bali as a Resort Manager.
Having grown up by the sea, his love for the palm-fringed islands and excitement to move to Koh Samui as a General Manager were easily explained. “I became enraptured as soon as I visited the Resort and I can understand why so many guests come back year after year to enjoy the island life here!”
Having spent three years on one of Thailand’s best-loved islands, Sean feels he has landed his dream role as the General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. “I am excited to further discover the deep-rooted culture and rich legacy of this country. To be able to bring our guests close to that, in a truly Four Seasons way, is special,” he smiles. How guests experience the destination and make meaningful connections, remain priorities for Sean, even as he continues his odyssey in the "Land of Smiles."
Nestled amid the lush tropical bounty of northern Thailand, the resort provides the perfect setting to immerse oneself in the serenity of the countryside of Mae Rim valley. Guests are invited to participate in the traditional practice of rice planting that envelops the resort, for a hands-on experience that not only fosters a deep connection to the land but also highlights the significance of sustainable agriculture. “We also offer guided nature walks, allowing guests to explore the rich biodiversity of the region and cultivate a profound appreciation for the environment,” shares Health and Wellness Manager Dheeraj Singh Patwal, pointing to the resort’s schedule of complimentary activities.
At the award-winning Wara Cheewa Spa, a sanctuary for personal reflection and self-care awaits as Director of Spa Saowapa Thumapun and her team curate experiences that resonate with the core Thai philosophy – living a life in balance. “Guests can indulge in holistic experiences that range from sunrise yoga and meditation to sound healing and pranayama as part of the resort’s daily activities,” she shares. For those who would like to explore further, signature therapies such as the Kularb Lanna Ritual (Rose of the North), utilise locally sourced ingredients such as the Chulalongkorn Rose to rejuvenate the body and mind.
As part of the experiences that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, guests can join personalised fitness sessions tailored to their goals and explore the benefits of the Visbody scan—a comprehensive body analysis that provides insights into body composition, helping guests better understand their overall health and wellness journey. "Our culinary team has crafted a 'balanced cuisine' menu, featuring plant-forward recipes made with seasonal produce from trusted local suppliers, ensuring a balanced and nourishing dining experience,” shares Dheeraj.
The resort offers a variety of activities designed to bring families and friends together. Guests can engage in traditional Thai cooking classes, where they learn to prepare authentic dishes using fresh ingredients from the Chef's gardens. "Our cultural centre Chaan Baan creates lasting memories and deepens bonds through immersive activities,” shares Dheeraj. Families to partake in traditional crafts such as pottery, tie-dye, saa paper making and candle making to not just bond over a fun learning experience but also take back a souvenir of their memorable time at the resort.
Community engagement and sustainability go hand in hand, and guests of the resort are invited to be part of meaningful initiatives that support local well-being and environmental care. “Our commitment to reducing plastic waste is reflected in the no-plastic in-room policy, encouraging guests to contribute to eco-friendly practices during their stay,” shares Saowapa. "What’s more, the rice cultivated in the resort's lush paddies is thoughtfully harvested and donated to nearby communities, fostering a spirit of giving and connection.” By participating in these efforts, guests not only deepen their understanding of Thai culture but also play an active role in supporting the region’s sustainability and social harmony.
As part of the celebration the resort has planned a day-long celebration combining wellness experiences and engaging activities. The Desk Detox at 8:30 am is followed by the Wellness Mocktail Mixology class across two sessions where guests can learn to create two signature drinks – Pink Grapefruit Sour and Watermelon Breeze – to quench the summer thirst. “In the evening, the resort comes alive with solemn chants and prayers as guests can participate in the Ganesha Blessing,” shares Dheeraj, who leads the experience. This is followed by the Swara & Nada Healing. “This specific breathwork aligns the energy from the sun and the moon, and is followed by a relaxing crystal sound healing,” shares Saowapa.
“As memorable as the day, our resort’s setting overlooking the majestic peaks of Doi Suthep inspires you to slow down, take a deep breath and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones in the beautiful countryside of Northern Thailand,” smiles Sean. “We look forward to welcoming you to experience Global Wellness Day with magical and memorable experiences that truly reflect the cultural ethos of Northern Thailand.”
