STR: Grand Prix Drove Monaco ADR and RevPAR to Record Highs
STR has reported that the Monaco hotel market achieved its highest-ever monthly average daily rate and revenue per available room on record in June 2026, driven by exceptional demand from the Formula 1 Grand Prix. According to preliminary data from CoStar, Monaco's hotel industry posted remarkable year-over-year growth: occupancy reached 81.4%, up 9.6%; ADR surged 85.6% to €1,267.48; and RevPAR skyrocketed 103.4% to €1,031.52, marking the first month on record that Monaco's RevPAR surpassed the €1,000 mark. This was also only the second time the market's ADR exceeded €1,000, following May 2025 when ADR reached €1,032.09.
In addition to the monthly records, Monaco posted its highest June occupancy since 2013. Daily performance peaks during the Grand Prix were extraordinary: occupancy peaked at 98.9% on Saturday, 6 June, with ADR climbing to €3,944.81 and RevPAR reaching €3,903.20. The market's highest ADR (€4,082.30) and RevPAR (€3,933.25) were recorded the following night, marking the first time on record that ADR surpassed the €4,000 mark in Monaco. Every performance peak reached during the month established an all-time daily high for the destination, demonstrating the extraordinary power of major sporting events to drive hotel performance. The 2025 Grand Prix, held from 23 to 25 May, had already pushed occupancy to 97.3%, with ADR and RevPAR peaking at €3,545.65 and €3,356.01 respectively, but the June 2026 figures significantly exceeded those levels... STR: Boosted Madrid Hotel Room Rates
Concerts by global music superstars Bad Bunny and BTS helped Madrid's hotel market record its highest-ever June average daily rate and revenue per available room, according to preliminary data from CoStar. Madrid hotels recorded occupancy of 82.2% in June 2026, an increase of 2.2% compared with the same month in 2025, while ADR rose by 4.8% to €199.97 and RevPAR increased by 7.1% to €164.32.
Bad Bunny performed 10 concerts at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium between 30 May and 15 June. Hotel occupancy reached its monthly peak of 92.7% on Wednesday, 10 June, when the seventh concert took place, with ADR of €217.14 and RevPAR of €201.28. The market's highest ADR and RevPAR levels were recorded on Saturday, 6 June, during the fifth concert, reaching €246.26 and €215.21 respectively, with occupancy at 87.4%. BTS brought its Arirang World Tour to Madrid for concerts on 26 and 27 June. The first show increased hotel occupancy to 89.5%, with ADR reaching €229.29 and RevPAR standing at €205.15. Madrid's hotel performance during the month was further supported by the Puro Latino Madrid Fest and Madrid Pride, with occupancy remaining above 70% on all but two days in June. STR: June Events Lifted Sydney Hotel Performance
STR has reported that several events helped Sydney's hotel industry achieve year-over-year performance growth in June, despite the month traditionally being one of the city's softest occupancy periods. According to preliminary data from CoStar, Sydney hotels recorded occupancy of 74.1% in June 2026, up 1.1% compared with June 2025, with ADR rising 2.6% to AUD243.81 and RevPAR increasing 3.7% to AUD180.77. The market's occupancy was its highest for a June since 2019.
Sydney's performance reached highs on the night of the penultimate Vivid Sydney (6 June), with occupancy at 92.7%, ADR at AUD323.93, and RevPAR at AUD300.39. This was the only night during the month that ADR and RevPAR exceeded AUD300. Those monthly highs were further supported by the Al Shami concert as well as the Sydney Film Festival. Matthew Burke, STR's regional director, noted that given the 0.1% supply decrease in the market, all demand growth builds occupancy in Sydney, with the annual Vivid Sydney and Sydney Film Festival underpinning demand for Sydney's historically softest occupancy month. Throughout the month, Sydney's occupancy levels remained above 60% on all but three nights. Looking ahead, Burke noted that Sydney's occupancy on the books is tracking two percentage points below the same time last year for July and one percentage point below for August, but the overall level remains a positive indicator, given that demand last year was boosted by the British and Irish Lions tour.
