IHG Hotels & Resorts is bringing back one of its iconic luxury brands to the Philippines with the signing of InterContinental Manila.
Scheduled to open in 2032, the 212-key hotel will mark InterContinental’s return to the vibrant and historic capital after more than 15 years, reaffirming IHG’s long-term commitment to the country’s tourism growth. InterContinental Manila will join the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand, showcasing a luxury travel experience tailored for the modern traveler.

InterContinental Manila will be located in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) – also known as Global City or The Fort – a 240-hectare master-planned district that has transformed from a former military base into Metro Manila’s most modern business hub. BGC is home to the Philippine Stock Exchange, leading multinational corporations, and some of the country’s tallest and most iconic landmarks.
The hotel will offer an array of exceptional amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant and a signature specialty restaurant and bar. Guests can take advantage of versatile meeting and event spaces, featuring ballroom, function, and meeting rooms. For relaxation and wellness, the property boasts a fully equipped health club and spa, complemented by an outdoor swimming pool with a poolside bar for a refreshing experience.
Vivek Bhalla, Managing Director, South East Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts said: “The InterContinental brand has a storied history in Manila, having first opened in the city in 1969 and for 46 years it was a symbol of luxury and a hotel icon. Reintroducing InterContinental to Manila is a wonderful milestone, and a perfect fit for the city with strong long-term fundamentals and increasing demand for luxury travel. This signing reinforces our commitment to expanding our Luxury & Lifestyle presence across the Philippines and the wider region.”
IHG is partnering with Keyland Corporation, Philippine Realty and Holdings Corporation, and Greenhills Properties Inc. to bring InterContinental back to Manila. An award-winning developer, Keyland has delivered residential and commercial developments across key urban centres including Makati, Alabang, Las Piñas, and Ortigas and is expanding into the hospitality sector, driven by the growing demand for premium travel experiences. Philippine Realty and Holdings Corporation, on the other hand, is engaged in property development, sales, leasing, and property management and has developed upscale residential condominium projects in Ortigas Center, Quezon City, and in BGC, as well as office and commercial properties in Ortigas Center. Greenhills Properties Inc. is also into property development, sales, and leasing and owns premium properties in BGC.
Jose Ma. Montinola, President, Keyland Corporation said: “Partnering with IHG to bring a globally recognised and well-loved brand such as InterContinental to Manila is an exciting new chapter for our partnership. We are immensely proud to build on the brand’s storied legacy in Manila and to play an integral role in its return to the capital, delivering a stand-out hotel that honours its past while setting a new benchmark for luxury stays in the city.”
InterContinental Manila will join a global portfolio of more than 240 InterContinental hotels and resorts worldwide, alongside a growing pipeline of two properties for the brand in the Philippines, and 104 hotels in the pipeline globally. Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026
Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.
Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.
We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.
Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."
While membership spots for 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more her
