IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to extend its reach in the Mexico, Latin America, and Caribbean (MLAC) region. A host of exciting recent hotel openings across all segments add to its nearly 400* open and pipeline properties in the region, spanning coveted urban, coastal, and business destinations.

Mexico – IHG’s fifth-largest market globally – leads the region’s growth alongside continued expansion in key markets including the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Peru. More than 4,000 rooms were added to the pipeline in MLAC last year alone.

Now Open: Standout Additions Across MLAC

From the Caribbean islands to Mexico City’s iconic Condesa neighborhood and the Pacific coast, IHG’s newest open hotels in the region pair design with a sense of place, prime locations, and experiences with local character.

Garner Mazatlán Beach

Marking a debut in Mexico for IHG’s new midscale conversion brand, Garner Mazatlán Beach occupies a scenic, Pacific coast setting in the city’s Cerritos neighborhood. The hotel’s 118 rooms and suites offer city and ocean views, with separate living room and multi-bedroom options for longer stays and family travel. Guests can enjoy direct beach access or opt to unwind at the pool or fully equipped gym.

Holiday Inn Express Condesa Mexico City

Set on Avenida Insurgentes Sur in the Condesa neighborhood, and minutes from Paseo de la Reforma and the Roma-Condesa dining and cultural scene, Holiday Inn Express Condesa Mexico City brings a contemporary, well-connected base to one of the capital’s most dynamic districts. The hotel’s 76 rooms offer functional space for today’s travelers, supplemented by a ground-floor lobby with work tables, a business center, and meeting rooms.

Hotel Indigo Playa del Carmen

Located in the heart of this vibrant coastal city just steps from the Caribbean Sea, Hotel Indigo Playa del Carmen welcomes both spirited beachgoers and travelers looking to take in the area’s shops, cafés, and nightlife. The hotel’s 60 guest rooms and common areas carry through the brand’s signature “neighborhood hotel” storytelling and locally inspired design, including interiors that blend natural textures and a refined Bohemian aesthetic. Guests can enjoy international dining at the onsite Mayan Bistro or celebrate special occasions in the hotel’s flexible event space.

voco Surfside Aruba

voco Surfside Aruba is the latest expansion for the premium brand in the MLAC region, which also includes six forthcoming properties in Mexico. Located in an oceanside setting also minutes from Queen Beatrix International Airport, voco Surfside Aruba aligns easy-going Caribbean hospitality with the brand’s distinctive character, considered design, and warm, intuitive service. Guests among the hotel’s 69 rooms and suites can recharge at its outdoor pool and enjoy locally inspired, international flavors at the Nook restaurant.

Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados

Located in the lively Hastings neighborhood along the island’s historic South Coast, Hotel Indigo Bridgetown Barbados offers a boutique stay shaped by local culture and creativity. The hotel’s 132 rooms and suites include balconies with stunning ocean views and spa-style bathrooms. At sunset, the rooftop lounge becomes a social hub with panoramic views. Onsite cafes, cocktail spaces, and the signature, Caribbean-inspired Compass restaurant keep guests nourished between seaside strolls, local market shopping, and rum tastings.

Partners and Pipeline Growth Expand Choice

Expanding guest choice for travel across MLAC, IHG’s partnership with Iberostar Beachfront Resorts offers all-inclusive resorts in key destinations including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Aruba. Resort renovations are underway at Mexico’s Iberostar Waves Tucan and Iberostar Waves Quetzal, alongside a new-look JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar in Jamaica.

Regional momentum continues with several upcoming openings, including InterContinental Miyana and Kimpton El Castelar in Mexico City and the opening of the first of three planned Holiday Inn hotels in the Dominican Republic with Holiday Inn Puerto Plata. Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026

Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.

Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.

We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.

Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."

While membership spots for 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more her
