Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur opens in the heart of Tun Razak Exchange (TRX)
Kimpton, part of IHG Hotels and Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, makes its Malaysian debut with the opening of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur. Owned by LQ Hotel Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Lendlease and TRX City Sdn Bhd, this highly anticipated hotel opening is a striking new landmark within the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) district - Kuala Lumpur’s buzzing lifestyle and business hub, where local spirit meets global flair, and every corner invites our guests to follow their naluri (instinct) toward ria (joy).
Now, for the first time in Malaysia, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur brings that signature blend of bold style and human hospitality to a city that’s as vibrant and dynamic as the brand itself. Founded in San Francisco in 1981, Kimpton has always been about more than just a place to stay. It’s about creating spaces that feel like home, but with a twist, where design, dining, and human connection come together to spark unforgettable moments.
From the moment guests step inside, they will feel the pulse of Kuala Lumpur — in the art, the flavours, and the stories woven into every detail. Whether sipping a bespoke cocktail at the rooftop bar or discovering hidden gems in the city, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur is the invitation to live joyfully through one's instincts, and make every stay personal.
The hotel offers 466 guestrooms and suites spanning 26 stories, towering over The Exchange TRX mall, and accords iconic landmark views of the city such as Merdeka 118 and KL Tower. Within the rooms and suites, monolithic surfaces, sinuous forms and abstract art depicting the Malaysian rainforests are contrasted with bold, hued tiles, leaf-shaped mirrors and gilded bathroom installations. These are complemented with luxury bath amenities from ARgENTUM and Penhaligon’s, and a minibar stocked with local treats such as Pandan Gula Melaka Granola & Salted Egg Yolk potato crisps only available in Malaysia and Pasa Cola, a locally crafted spiced cola amongst others.
“The opening of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur represents not only a new destination for the brand – it’s a promise to deliver what we’re globally recognised for, unique properties with truly unique guest experiences to match. From inspiring spaces and distinct dining to the brand’s human hospitality, we look forward to creating unforgettable experiences and immersive human-to-human connections that capture the very heart and soul of Kuala Lumpur,” remarked Paul Cunningham, General Manager, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur.
Led by Hassell, an award-winning design studio, the hotel’s interior design follows the narrative of “Botanics Beyond Aesthetics”, where echoes of Malaysia’s lush parklands are brought to life. Harmonizing natural elements with stylish, bold designs, the hotel welcomes guests into a spacious, high-ceiling lobby and lush greenery. Earthy hues, forest-green tones, and organic textures integrate seamlessly into the rest of the hotel’s design-led interior.
Food and drink have always been a cornerstone of the brand, so in true Kimpton style, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur features four standout destination dining and social spaces, quickly set to become locally loved favourites:
Tuai + Till– a dual dining venue where guests can enjoy farm-to-table, fermentation-driven menus. Think cozy Malaysian cafe at Tuai and elegant Western brasserie at Till.
Four Siblings – Malaysia’s first spice-themed bar and only rooftop bar in TRX. Inspired by the historic spice trade, and the four essential spices - cinnamon, clove, cardamom and star anise, that will bridge Malaysian and South American influences.
Rise & Grind – a contemporary grab-&-go espresso bar that embraces third-wave coffee artistry while honouring locally-loved essence of Malaysia and its Kopitiam culture, featuring homegrown Liberica coffee beans.
Sabato’s – Malaysia’s first retro-inspired Italian-American spot to rediscover 1970’s disco nights and pay homage to the Red Sauce Joint era. Opening in early 2026.
As with all Kimpton hotels, guests at Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur can enjoy unexpected perks and signature touches including in-room yoga mats and complimentary bikes for urban exploration as well as the beloved Kimpton Kickstart - a daily hosted morning energiser offering a selection of Liberica cold brew coffee, teh tarik (pulled milk tea), and detox shots and Kimpton Social - inviting guests to gather and connect over drinks, curated chef bites and conversation each evening. The Kimpton “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” programme offers guests access to a selection of curated items they may have left behind, from mobile phone chargers, makeup remover, hair spray or personal care items.
Wellness programming at Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur goes well beyond the conventional fitness experience. Guests can access:
Minibar stocked with local prebiotic beverages, protein bars and a healthy nut mix.
TRX Suspension training on the rooftop fitness terrace and a self-powered treadmill built for performance
Complimentary workout sessions by expert instructors at Pulse, the hotel’s rooftop fitness centre – from pilates, personal training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), to tranquil early-morning sunrise yoga.
The Connection Hub will open in early 2026 and offers five inspiring spaces catered for intimate functions such as product launches and social occasions.
Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur joins a growing IHG portfolio of luxury lifestyle hotels, that opened in 2025 including Kimpton Main Frankfurt, Kimpton KAFD Riyadh, Kimpton Aqeos Hainan, Kimpton Atlântico Algarve and Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong, with more exciting destinations in the pipeline such as Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud opening in 2026.

Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026
Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.
Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.
We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.
Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."
