Reopening 8 April 2026, Sandblu Santorini returns as LXR Hotels & Resorts’ first retreat in Greece. A sanctuary above Kamari’s black-sand shoreline designed for travellers drawn to discovery, design, and deeply personal service, each of the hotel’s 66 rooms, suites, and villas channels the island’s Cycladic heritage, artfully styled to mirror the volcanic landscape and the ever-changing light of the Aegean.
Intriguing Design Rooted in Cycladic Tradition
Perched above Kamari’s black-sand beach, the intimate enclave of 36 rooms, 27 suites, and three villas features whitewashed walls, volcanic stone, and soft coastal tones that echo Santorini’s shoreline and sky. Each guest room celebrates local craftsmanship with natural woods, sea-washed hues, and private terraces that pull the outdoors in, with almost half featuring their own private pools. The exclusive villas offer private pools, wide terraces, and the kind of privacy that lets the island fall away.
Distinctive Dining Rooted in Local Tradition
Sandblu Santorini’s six culinary destinations each offer a different vantage point on the island’s flavours, from just-caught seafood to the volcanic-grown wines for which Santorini is famous. Nectar reframes Greek cuisine through a contemporary lens, while Plateia carries the day from breakfast to late dinners with views of the infinity pool and ocean. Aroma houses a 300-label cellar spanning local and international vintages, and mornings begin with warm pastries and artisanal coffee at Stari Bakery. The standout of Sandblu Santorini’s dining portfolio is Blu, an off-property Rockwell Group-designed terrace restaurant, where modern Greek-Mediterranean cooking meets Santorini’s most iconic view – the UNESCO Geological Heritage site, Caldera.
Feisal Jaffer, global head, LXR Hotels & Resorts, said, “Sandblu is the Santorini most travellers hope to stumble into - quiet, design-led, and deeply local. It is an ideal expression of LXR: a refined base for personal discovery that brings you closer to the island’s people, culture, and hidden gems. Since launching in 2018, LXR has thoughtfully focused on sophisticated global travellers seeking meaningful experiences, distinctive design, and bespoke personalised service. As we continue to curate our European growth, Sandblu Santorini serves as an ideal introduction to our brand, inviting guests to connect deeply with the island’s unique character and the people who bring it to life.”
Leonidas Anagnostou, general manager, Sandblu Santorini, LXR Hotels & Resorts, said, "At Sandblu we’re deeply passionate about luxury hospitality that is emotionally resonant, thoughtfully curated, and effortlessly elevated. For 2026 we are excited for another year of creating unforgettable guest experiences, continuing to create a space where guests can connect with themselves, stop, breathe, and leave feeling restored and refreshed.”
The Wellness Collective: A Holistic Approach to Wellness
New for 2026, The Wellness Collective is Sandblu Santorini’s season-long programme of hosted practitioners and small group experiences designed to meet travellers wherever they are on their personal journey. From guided movement and meditation to restorative rituals and expert-led workshops, each session is curated with the same intention as the resort itself, to help guests reconnect, recalibrate, and return to the world restored. The resort will partner with leading practitioners and specialists to host sessions and retreats spanning yoga, nutrition, meditation, sound bathing, psychology, and more, creating transformative experiences rooted in authentic wellness practices.
Wellbeing lives at the heart of the Sandblu Santorini experience, with The Aurora Spa featuring ESPA and 111SKIN treatments, complemented by a sauna, steam room, and indoor heated pool, offering a soothing counterbalance to long days in the Aegean sun. The property’s two-story Nous & Sóma fitness facility is equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, a reformer Pilates studio, and a Kinesis Vision machine.
Story-Worthy Adventures Through Santorini’s Hidden Corners
From volcanic-terrain horseback riding to on-property olive oil and wine tastings celebrating local agricultural traditions guided by local purveyors, Sandblu’s experiences are designed for travellers who seek a distinctly local connection. Wine enthusiasts can enjoy private tastings at the resort’s new Santovini Wine Cellar, a natural cave tucked into the property, offering a uniquely atmospheric setting for intimate and celebratory gatherings. Each experience at Sandblu Santorini is crafted to invite guests to venture beyond the expected through a curated collection of bespoke experiences in LXR’s spirit of personal adventure.
Sandblu Santorini adds to LXR Hotels & Resorts’ growing global portfolio of nearly 40 trading and pipeline properties, marking the debut of LXR’s first luxury hotel in Greece. The opening will be closely followed by the brand debut of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, with the arrival of Conrad Athens The Ilisian including Conrad and Waldorf Astoria Residences and Conrad Corfu in the coming months...... Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026
Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.
Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.
We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.
Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."
While membership spots for 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more her
