Daniel Aylmer, CEO, IHG Greater China, said: “Having maintained a long-standing presence in Greater China, we have observed the industry enter a more refined stage of development. The introduction of Garner hotels to the region demonstrates our deep commitment to this market and reflects how we are responding to the growing demand for conversions. Garner strengthens our portfolio in the conversion market, complementing our luxury and lifestyle brand, Vignette Collection, and our premium brand, voco, to offer a broader set of solutions across different markets and project types. Its high adaptability and flexible conversion model enable a strong balance between investment efficiency and guest experience. We look forward to supporting owners in building more resilient and sustainable investment models while contributing to the high-quality growth of the hospitality sector in Greater China.”

Since its global launch in 2023, Garner has expanded rapidly, with more than 100 hotels now open worldwide, making it one of the fastest-growing brands in IHG. Its debut in Greater China marks the next phase of the brand’s global expansion.

Built on Standards, Designed for Individuality

As the midscale to upper-midscale segment evolves, a new generation of travelers is seeking more than consistency and quality. Increasingly, they value individuality, emotional connection, and experiences that feel both reliable and distinctive. Garner addresses this demand with its brand proposition: For all the journeys you're on, we make it possible.

Guided by its global brand philosophy, Garner embraces adaptability in design, local expression, and guest touchpoints, enabling each property to reflect its own identity. Designed for Spirited, Flexible Travelers, the brand brings its ethos to life through three core experience pillars:

  • Get Comfortable: From extended breakfast hours to 24-hour delivery services, Garner adapts to each guest’s lifestyle, allowing travel to unfold naturally without rigid schedules.

  • Good Stuff to Keep You Going: From self-serve beverage stations to diverse breakfast experiences, spaces and services are designed to be used in multiple ways, giving guests the freedom to engage based on their preferences.

  • Made with Character: Through interactive touches such as welcome treats, community voting, and creative elements like coffee cup doodling, Garner provides guests with opportunities to express their personality and leave their own mark on each stay.

Efficient, Flexible, Rewarding ConversionsAs the conversion becomes a fast-growing area in hospitality, Garner is designed to address key owner needs, from investment efficiency to product adaptability and operational performance. Built around its conversion-friendly approach and brand philosophy of Relax, Flexible, Purposely Different, Garner offers an integrated solution that combines flexibility, distinctiveness, and guest appeal:

  • Relaxed: Supporting a variety of project types through light, medium, and heavy renovation models, Garner enables owners to optimize costs and timelines, delivering more stable returns with a balanced level of investment.

  • Flexible: A design system that is both inspiring and adaptable allows hotels to respond to different conditions, creating distinctive identities within a consistent brand framework.

  • Purposely Different: Through differentiated guest experiences and unique design expression, Garner helps hotels stand out in a competitive market and translate unique experiences into long-term brand value.

In addition, Garner connects seamlessly to IHG’s global platform, including access to more than 160 million IHG One Rewards members, as well as its distribution network, revenue management systems, and digital marketing capabilities, supporting strong and sustainable performance.

With its debut in Greater China, Garner has already demonstrated early market traction. The first hotel in the region, Garner Beijing 798 Art District, is now open and serves as a flagship example of the brand’s conversion efficiency. The project progressed from owner engagement to soft opening in a short timeframe, underscoring Garner’s conversion-friendly advantage. At the same time, multiple projects have already been signed in key locations, including Shanghai Lujiazui, Chongqing Jiefangbei, and Hangzhou West Lake, reflecting strong owner confidence and growth momentum.

Garner will continue to focus on prime locations in key cities, working closely with owners to unlock the potential of existing assets and capture opportunities in the evolving conversion segment. With efficient development pathways and a robust operating platform, Garner is well-positioned to support the next wave of hotel upgrades, creating spaces where travelers can feel at ease and express themselves and truly feel at home wherever they stay... Read more here - Hotel Management Global Outlook Link

Small Tip To Landing Good Senior-Level Hotel Management Positions in 2026

Many of our members have remained with us since the inception of our job lead service seven years ago. They continue to renew their memberships, staying on board even after securing new positions, and for good reason.

Daily, our editors dispatch bulletins detailing new job vacancies, projects, and industry shifts, including hotel launches, expansions, strategies, and market trends.

We recognize that numerous long-standing, senior-level members utilize these bulletins as conversation starters, reaching out to hotel chains and potential employers, sometimes with unsolicited applications and messages. LHN endorses such proactive engagement. It's an excellent, informal method to gain early interest from prominent hotel groups and upcoming projects, indicating your interest and broadening your opportunities for intriguing interviews or discussions about potential roles, particularly at the upper echelons of management.

Our editors also keep these proactive efforts in mind, shaping many bulletins to cover "new openings, new projects, and new market developments."

While membership spots for 2026 are limited, it's not too late to renew.- Read more her
